New Mexico has a high poverty rate and a high childhood povertry rate. The cost of rent is high in Taos. Inflation has hit families hard with increasing food costs. The primary emphasis of the Shared Table is to see that no one goes hungry. We unfortunately cannot assist with rent or utilities, or vehicle repair. With grant support, we also help with diapers to parents, grandparents, and school programs who have need of them.
Carmen Retzlaff is the Director of the Shared Table; Mike Flaherty is the Pantry Operations Manager. Our Shared Table Leadership Team is made up of community leaders, Shared Table clients, and members of El Pueblito.
