Rev. Dr. Nicole Oliver Snyder is an Ordained Elder in the Free Methodist Church, USA, with more than two decades of ministry experience. She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership in Community Spiritual Formation and an MDiv/MA in Counseling, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with post-graduate certificate in Psychedelic Assisted Therapies and Research, a CO Natural Medicine FT license, and the author of Leading Together: Mindfulness and the Gender Neutral Zone. Her ministry is grounded in Wesleyan theology, with its emphasis on grace, experience, and social witness, and her clinical training shapes a trauma-aware approach to pastoral care that pays close attention to safety, trust, and belonging. Nicole is most enlivened by preaching, teaching, and creating spaces such as small groups and retreats where people can grow in faith and connection. She has a particular heart for walking with individuals and congregations through seasons of transition, grief, and discernment. She serves alongside her partner in life and ministry, Rev Howie Snyder, and continues to maintain her counseling practice.
Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, and raised in Denver, Nicole has also lived in Hong Kong, Istanbul, and six states from California to Pennsylvania. Those experiences fuel her love of building relationships across communities, whether through shared worship, local events, or a good conversation over dinner. Outside of ministry, she runs, hikes, plays bass, crochets, takes photographs, and experiments with unexpected flavor combinations. Her current obsession is cheesecake. She is in awe of her adult kids, Samantha (recently married to Max), Greer, Lysander, and Clark (and his partner, Des). Check out her website.
